Sunday at Nana's House

One of the things I wanted to do again is read. The past few years of working I just quit reading books. I love to read but somewhere along the way one day I just quit. I don't know why it just happened. When I decided to retire I decided it was time to start reading again. Even though we have Direct TV with 2 movie channels there is absolutely nothing on TV that I want to watch. So reading is good. About a month ago I was in Target looking at books when I saw this series. So I bought them and I am really glad I did. So far I have read the first one, "The Inn at Eagle Point" and I just finished the second one, "Flowers on Main". I plan to start reading the third one, "Harbor Lights" tonight.

Yesterday morning I decided to embroider a couple of names on a fleece blanket for a friend of mine. So I powered up the computer, turned on my Bernina sewing machine, marked the blanket for the name placement and then the computer failed me. . . again. Back before we went to Disney World I was trying to machine applique some Mickey designs on t-shirts for all the little ones and I started having trouble sending designs from my computer to my sewing machine. Finally my daughter suggested that I try doing it on my laptop since I also have the embroidery software on the laptop. Well the laptop worked and I was able to complete my designs. So yesterday morning after my computer was not 'talking' to my sewing machine I decided that maybe something had gotten corrupt with the software. So I re-installed the software on my computer and still there is a problem. It took the computer over 4 hours to re-install the software so I was really aggravated when it did not work. So I tried again and there was still a problem! So I tried again today and there is still a problem. Well I have tried 3 times and I'm done!!! I think it is time to call my favorite computer person (my brother in law) who always comes to my rescue and get him to fix my computer problems. The good news is that I transferred all of my machine embroidery designs from my computer to my new external hard drive "My Book" and connected "My Book" to my laptop and I am able to use my designs with my sewing machine. I plan to embroider the fleece blanket tomorrow because Andy and Ben came home with us after church today. Oh yes, they also came to visit us yesterday afternoon with their Mommy and ended up spending the night with us. I asked them a few minutes ago if they were ready to go home and they said "NO!" They want to spend the night again. So that is OK with me since I have nowhere in particular that I have to be in the morning. This is the best thing about being retired!
